LateRate for Odoo: statutory late payment interest, also on invoices paid late
Late payment interest is easy to forget and hard to get right by hand: the reference rate changes every half-year, partial payments change the open amount, and the fixed compensation may be charged only once. LateRate calculates it in Odoo up to the day, including invoices the customer already paid late, and creates one draft interest invoice per customer for you to review.

What LateRate does
Invoices paid late
A customer who paid 49 days late is found afterwards and charged for those days, not only invoices that are still open.
The statutory rate
Reference rate per half-year plus the statutory margin, with business and consumer rates kept apart. A period that crosses 1 January or 1 July is split there.
Compensation once
EUR 40, 450 SEK, 310 DKK or the Norwegian amount per late invoice for business customers, never for consumers and never twice.
Never the same day twice
Each run charges only days not charged before. Cancel an interest invoice and exactly its days come back.
Real payment patterns
Partial payments, credit notes and instalment due dates are each counted from the right day.
You decide
Nothing runs in the background and nothing is posted or sent. Late invoices that are not charged are listed with the reason.
Good to know
- You enter each published reference rate yourself, twice a year. The app ships the legal rules, not the rate figures.
- No reminder letters, reminder fees or automatic background runs. Posting and sending stay in your normal Odoo invoicing.
- The presets summarise the law as of October 2026. Check your own contracts and national rules; this is software, not legal advice.
- Odoo Online can't install custom Python add-ons, so it needs Odoo.sh or your own server.

FAQ
Does it change the original invoice?
No. Interest goes on a separate draft invoice per customer, with one line per late invoice and no VAT.
Can a customer be charged twice for the same days?
No. Charged days and the compensation are tracked per invoice and instalment, and a proposal that no longer matches the payments is refused.
Do I need the Accounting app?
No. LateRate depends only on Invoicing and works on Community and Enterprise.
