Maintenance Spare Parts for Odoo: parts on the maintenance request, cost on the machine

Odoo Maintenance has no place for the parts a repair uses. Maintenance Spare Parts adds a Spare Parts tab to the maintenance request: inventory users reserve the parts through a normal transfer, consume what was actually used, and the parts cost shows on the request, on the equipment and in a report.

What Maintenance Spare Parts does

Parts on every request

Planned, reserved and used quantity, status and cost per part, in a Spare Parts tab.

Reserved in stock

An internal transfer to a Maintenance location reserves the parts, lots included.

Consume what was used

Only the used quantity leaves stock; unused parts are released and no backorder is left.

Cost per equipment

Each consumed part keeps its cost; the equipment shows everything used on it.

Parts report

Quantity and cost by equipment, part or month in a pivot.

Stock with inventory users

Technicians add parts; inventory users reserve and consume them.

Good to know

  • The parts cost is the product cost when the part is consumed.
  • Automatic purchasing is left to Odoo's replenishment rules. Returns use the standard Return on the parts transfer and reduce the cost.
  • Odoo Online can't install custom Python add-ons, so it needs Odoo.sh or your own server.

FAQ

Does it need the Repairs app?

No. It works on Odoo's Maintenance app, for your own equipment.

Do lot-tracked parts work?

Yes. Odoo reserves the lots when you reserve, and those lots are consumed.

What if more was used than was in stock?

The used quantity is booked anyway, as with any forced transfer, and on-hand stock goes below zero until it is corrected.
